All properties owned by Cabouchon Properties, LLC are affordable housing developments. To qualify for an apartment, applicants must fulfill a number of criteria, depending on which housing program is involved. The following are the basic requirements:
- The family's annual income must not exceed the program's income limits.
- The number of people occupying the apartment must not exceed the set limits.
- All family members must receive satisfactory criminal background investigation reports regarding drug-related, violent, criminal, and sex offenses.
- Family members over the age of 18 must receive a satisfactory credit rating.
- The family may not have a record of landlord-tenant cases that ended in eviction or judgement for the landlord.
Other criteria that may be taken into consideration include:
- Personal recommendations
- Income and assets
- Medical and other expenses
- Citizenship or legal resident status
Under the law, it is illegal to discriminate against applicants or residents on the basis of their age, disability, marital or familial staus, color, national origina, race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
